Big Dance Company

David Howard, Trustee for West Cornwall Youth Trust, presenting the cheque to the team and some of the students at the Big Dance CompanyThe Big Dance Company is a family run dance school based in Penzance, providing dance lessons to young people from across the county and into Devon. Running for several years now, the school is going from strength to strength – a team having entered Britain’s Got Talent a few years back, as well as many of the dancers competing in national competitions and co-owner Fiona recently being asked with a number of other guests to lunch with the Queen on her visit to Marazion in recognition of her work with young people.

The best thing about the Big Dance Company is that the funding they receive allows them to offer free lessons to students from hard to reach areas or underprivileged backgrounds. Working with the West Cornwall Youth Trust, they were able to offer a lot of students the chance to get involved in 2013, and have just been awarded another grant to do the same in 2014. Fiona from the Big Dance Company has said she was really pleased with the way all the students last year integrated into the school, and is hoping to mirror that success this year.
