Playfest began four years ago. A festival comprising of lots of different activities for children, it is held in Truro and, in 2013, 9,000 people attended – a considerable success. The event is supported by Truro City Council and runs on the first Wednesday in August – national play day.

The grant that Playfest received from the West Cornwall Youth Trust provided 300 free passes for “hard-to-reach” children as identified by partners of the festival, all of whom are not-for-profit or charitable organisations.

HAFest was an event created by the Playfest team, which started in 2013. It runs specifically for Redruth community and West Cornwall Youth Trust also gave a grant for this, providing 150 free passes to families.
